Whether your kids are preschoolers, preteens, or young adults, you can be prepared to help your children navigate the complex cultural issues of our day. This course is designed to give you an understanding of current issues, examine them from a Biblical framework, and challenge you to lead your family to engage the culture with the gospel of Christ.
In Christ-Centered Parenting, experts will help equip you to discuss these topics and guide your children through difficult issues such as pornography, identity, homosexuality, abortion, technology, and more from a gospel perspective.
In this study, you will:
- Engage in culture’s most complex issues.
- Apply the gospel of life through transformative conversations.
- Build confidence as you prepare for complicated conversations.
- Understand how children’s opinions on tough issues are shaped.
- Replace culture’s influence with biblical truth.
This course consists of the following components:
1. VIDEO
Each session is approx. 30 minutes and features a panel discussion on how to parent in the midst of a specific complex cultural issue. The panelists all come from different perspectives, professions and pastoral expertise, but have one thing in common - they're all parents.
2. GROUP DISCUSSION
Following each session's video, you'll find Discussion Questions & Forums to help you (and those in your group) discussion the session. There will also be self-guided surveys, quizzes and activities to help you take notes, remember what you've learned and find opportunities to apply to your family.
3. ARTICLES
Each session also featured 3 articles that help provide additional information and perspective about facets of the larger issue discussed. These are shared as HOMEwork (i.e., to be read & reviewed at HOME) in between sessions. Additionally, you'll find reflection questions that accompany each article to help you process and apply the information.
4. AGE-GRADED INFO SHEETS
Perhaps most importantly, each session features downloadable Info Sheets to give you a brief overview of how to approach your son/daughter/child about each particular issue according to their age/stage (preschool, elementary, preteen, middle, high school & young adult).
NOTE: Precise ages (years) are NOT given because each child progresses and is designed by God uniquely. We recommend starting with the stage your child(ren) are in currently, and also review the adjacent ages/stages to see what is most suitable according to his/her level of growth, development and Biblical knowledge.
